- 1 lb lean ground beef (80/20)
- 1 medium yellow onion, finely chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup bell peppers, chopped (mixed colors)
- 1 cup tomato sauce
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp chili powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tbsp olive oil
Instructions
- Prep your ingredients by chopping the onion and bell peppers, and mincing the garlic.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, add olive oil and sauté the onions and bell peppers until they soften (about 5 minutes).
- Increase heat slightly, then add ground beef. Cook until browned evenly (6-8 minutes), breaking it apart with a spatula.
- Stir in the minced garlic and spices; cook for an additional minute until fragrant.
- Add tomato sauce and mix well. Simmer on low heat for about 10 minutes to meld flavors.
- Serve hot with rice, pasta, or enjoy on its own topped with herbs.
