- 1 lb fresh mushrooms (cremini or button)
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup seasoned breadcrumbs (or panko)
- 1 tsp salt (to taste)
- 1/2 tsp pepper (to taste)
- 1 cup vegetable oil (for frying)
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder (optional)
Instructions
- Clean mushrooms with a damp cloth; avoid rinsing.
- Set up three bowls: one with flour mixed with salt and pepper, another with whisked eggs, and a third with seasoned breadcrumbs.
- Coat each mushroom in flour, then dip in eggs, and finally cover in breadcrumbs.
- Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
- Fry mushrooms in batches until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per side.
- Drain on paper towels and serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
