- 2 slices sourdough or whole grain bread
- 1/4 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1/4 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- Fresh basil or parsley (optional)
Instructions
- Gather all ingredients on your countertop.
- Butter one side of each slice of bread thoroughly.
- Place one slice of bread butter-side down in a skillet over medium heat.
- Layer cheddar and mozzarella cheeses on top, then place the second slice of bread butter-side up.
- Cook for 3-4 minutes until golden brown and crispy, then flip and cook the other side for another 3-4 minutes until both sides are toasted and the cheese melts.
- Remove from heat, let sit for a minute, slice, and serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce or soup.
