- 8 oz pasta (spaghetti or penne)
- 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- 3 cloves fresh garlic, minced
- 1 can (14 oz) crushed tomatoes (preferably San Marzano)
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp dried basil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- ½ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Prepare the Pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain, reserving some pasta water.
- Sauté Garlic: In a skillet over medium heat, add olive oil and minced garlic. Sauté for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- Make the Sauce: Stir in crushed tomatoes, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10-15 minutes until slightly thickened.
- Combine: Toss the cooked pasta with the sauce in the skillet for 2-3 minutes. If needed, add reserved pasta water for moisture.
- Serve: Plate the pasta and top with freshly grated Parmesan cheese.
