Ingredients
- 8 oz penne pasta
- 1 lb Italian sausage (mild or spicy)
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 4 garlic cloves (minced)
- 15 oz canned crushed tomatoes
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup fresh basil (chopped)
Instructions
- Cook the pasta in salted boiling water until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat and add sliced sausage. Cook until browned (5-7 minutes).
- Add minced garlic; sauté until fragrant. Stir in crushed tomatoes, salt, and pepper to taste.
- Combine the cooked pasta with the sausage mixture and simmer for 3-5 minutes.
- Remove from heat, sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and garnish with basil before serving.
