  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: Serves 4

Ingredients

Scale
  • 14 oz firm tofu
  • 3 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1-inch piece fresh ginger, grated
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 1 tbsp toasted sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Press the tofu by wrapping it in paper towels and placing something heavy on top for 15 minutes to remove excess moisture.
  2. Cut the pressed tofu into 1-inch cubes.
  3. In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, minced garlic, and grated ginger. Toss the tofu cubes gently in the marinade; let sit for at least 30 minutes.
  4. Heat vegetable oil in a non-stick skillet over medium heat until shimmering. Add marinated tofu cubes and fry until golden brown on all sides, about 5-7 minutes per side.
  5. Pour any remaining marinade over the tofu and let it bubble for an additional 1-2 minutes to enhance flavor.
  6. Serve garnished with chopped green onions and sesame seeds.
