Obviously, not all of them can go through to the finals, and
The 'Under the Cloche' round threw a few contestants instantly: Kitty (who learned all her cooking knowledge through TikTok) wasn't sure what to do with plaice, Ryan had never worked with tofu before, while frozen food aficionado Adam admitted his "heart sank" when he saw he had to work with cauliflower.
All three of them received some critiques regarding things being undercooked or poorly presented, but their flavours were strong. Katya and Lisa took the early lead with some strong praise.
Round two had the celebrities tasting tacos and having to guess the ingredients, including working out what's in the guacamole, salsa and tortilla. Lisa guessed practically everything, while Adam and Ryan were off with the fish – the latter actually thought the cod was lobster!
Presenting their reverse-engineered tacos to the judges, undercooked tortillas were a problem for everyone except Lisa's, which were fine, and Ryan's, which were cooked nicely but contained salt, which they're not supposed to have at all. Oops.
For the dinner party round, Ryan made a wild mushroom risotto with gremolata, Lisa cooked pan-fried sea bass with crunchy vegetables, Adam did chicken chorizo jambalaya, Kitty made roast butternut squash risotto, while Katya put together pasta in a pie.
Gregg called Katya's combo "a mistake", Kitty's risotto was pleasant while Ryan's was singled out as something really special, with the judges saying he needed to trademark his recipe. Adam's chicken was a bit dry in an otherwise praised dish, while Lisa was once again the standout.
Adam was the one sent home at the end, but he agreed with the decision, admitting that cooking was not his thing.
