Chef Charles Gabriel is from down south and brought his mother’s delicious cooking techniques with him to NYC almost 60 years ago! Honing his craft in Harlem’s legendary restaurant Copeland’s, Charles eventually went out on his own. A true "How to make it in America” story, he started out serving people in front of his apartment building, then his food truck (before those were even a thing), to running three of his own restaurants. Today at the age of 75 Charles has scaled back, but the Harlem legend has expanded his horizons, opening a second restaurant on the Upper West Side. Come along for this food adventure!
