Ingredients
- 3–4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 4 cups low-sodium chicken broth
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup whole milk
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 4 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tbsp fresh herbs (thyme or parsley)
Instructions
- Place chicken breasts in a large pot with the chicken broth; simmer over medium heat for 15-20 minutes until cooked through.
- Remove chicken from the pot; add salt, pepper, and fresh herbs to the broth; let simmer.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and milk. Fold in melted butter gently.
- Drop tablespoons of dough into the simmering broth; cover and steam for 15 minutes.
- Shred cooled chicken and stir back into the pot along with additional herbs if desired.
- Serve hot and enjoy!
