- 1 cup old-fashioned oats
- 2 cups milk (or nut milk)
- 1 medium tart apple (diced)

- 2 tbsp brown sugar or maple syrup (to taste)
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, combine old-fashioned oats and milk over medium heat. Stir occasionally until it begins to simmer, about 5 minutes.
- Add diced apple, ground cinnamon, and salt. Cook for an additional 5 minutes until the apples soften.
- Stir in brown sugar or maple syrup to taste once the oats are creamy and thickened.
- Remove from heat and let sit for one minute before serving.
- Serve warm in bowls and top with optional nuts or dried fruits as desired.
