- 8 oz fettuccine pasta
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter (1 stick)
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 3 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt and pepper (to taste)
Instructions
- Cook the fettuccine in a large pot of salted boiling water according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and reserve some cooking water.
- In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter until bubbly but not browned.
- Add minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- Pour in the heavy cream, stirring continuously, and simmer for 3-5 minutes until slightly thickened.
- Gradually whisk in Parmesan cheese until fully melted and smooth. If too thick, add reserved pasta water to adjust consistency.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste. Toss in cooked fettuccine until well coated and serve hot.
