Instructions
- Cook the elbow macaroni in boiling salted water until al dente, then drain.
- In a saucepan over medium heat, melt butter, then stir in cottage cheese and milk until smooth.
- Gradually add shredded cheddar, stirring until melted and creamy.
- Season with garlic powder, salt, and pepper; adjust to taste.
- Fold the cooked macaroni into the cheese sauce until fully coated.
- For a crunchy topping, transfer to a baking dish, sprinkle breadcrumbs, and bake at 350°F (175°C) for about 20 minutes.
