- 8 oz fettuccine or spaghetti
- 4–6 cloves fresh garlic, minced
- 4 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1 cup heavy cream (or half-and-half)
- 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Cook the pasta in a large pot of salted boiling water until al dente. Drain and reserve 1 cup of pasta water.
- In a skillet over medium heat, melt butter and sauté garlic until fragrant (about 1 minute).
- Reduce heat and stir in heavy cream; let simmer for about 3 minutes.
- Mix in Parmesan cheese until melted, adding reserved pasta water as needed to adjust sauce consistency.
- Toss cooked pasta in the sauce until evenly coated.
- Serve immediately with extra Parmesan and parsley if desired.
