- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup buttermilk

- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil (for frying)
- 2 cups milk (for gravy)
- 4 tbsp butter (for gravy)
- 1/4 cup flour (for gravy)
Instructions
- Tenderize the round steak to about 1/2 inch thickness using a meat mallet.
- Combine buttermilk with salt and pepper in a bowl; soak the steaks for at least 30 minutes.
- In another bowl, whisk together flour, garlic powder, and paprika.
- Remove steaks from buttermilk and dredge in seasoned flour.
- Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat; fry the coated steaks until golden brown on both sides (about 4-5 minutes per side).
- For the gravy, melt butter in the skillet drippings, whisk in flour until smooth, then gradually add milk until thickened.
- Serve the chicken fried steak smothered in gravy alongside your choice of sides.
