- 1 sheet puff pastry (thawed)
- 2 cups potatoes (boiled and mashed)
- 1 cup green peas (fresh or frozen)
- 1 medium onion (diced)
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 1 tsp garam masala
- ¼ cup fresh cilantro (chopped)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil (for sautéing)
- 2 tbsp melted butter or oil (for brushing)
Instructions
- In a skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium heat. Sauté diced onions until golden brown.
- Add cumin seeds and let them sizzle for a few seconds.
- Stir in the mashed potatoes, green peas, turmeric, coriander, garam masala, salt, and pepper. Mix well and fold in chopped cilantro.
- Roll out the puff pastry on a floured surface and cut into circles (4-5 inches in diameter).
- Place about one tablespoon of filling in each circle, fold into half-moons, and seal edges with water.
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Arrange samosas on a parchment-lined baking sheet and brush tops with melted butter or oil.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
