  • 1 pound ground beef (or turkey/plant-based substitute)
  • 24 ounces marinara sauce
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a large baking dish.
  2. Cook the spaghetti in salted boiling water until al dente, then drain.
  3. In a skillet, brown the ground beef; drain excess fat. Add marinara sauce and Italian seasoning, simmer for 10 minutes.
  4. Mix ricotta cheese with egg, salt, and pepper until smooth.
  5. Layer half of the spaghetti in the baking dish, followed by half of the meat sauce, dollops of ricotta mixture, and a sprinkle of mozzarella. Repeat layers.
  6. Top with remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese. Bake uncovered for 30-35 minutes until golden brown.
