- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup Italian breadcrumbs
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- ½ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- ¼ cup fresh basil leaves (for garnish)
- 3 tbsp olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Set up your breading station: place flour in one bowl, beaten eggs in another, and breadcrumbs in a third.
- Season chicken breasts with salt and pepper. Dredge each breast in flour, dip into eggs, and coat with breadcrumbs.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, add olive oil. Fry breaded chicken until golden brown on both sides (4-5 minutes per side).
- Transfer the chicken to an oven-safe dish, spoon marinara sauce over each piece, and top with mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Garnish with fresh basil before serving hot with pasta or salad on the side.
