- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 8 oz pasta (spaghetti, penne, or fusilli)
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 14 oz canned crushed tomatoes
- 2 tsp Italian seasoning
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 cup mixed vegetables (bell peppers, zucchini, spinach) (optional)
Instructions
- Heat a large skillet over medium heat with a splash of olive oil. Add chopped onions and minced garlic; sauté until translucent.
- Push onions to the side and add ground beef. Cook until browned and crumbled evenly.
- Stir in canned tomatoes and Italian seasoning. Simmer for 10 minutes to meld flavors.
- Meanwhile, boil water in another pot; cook pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain, reserving some pasta water.
- Combine cooked pasta with the sauce mixture in the skillet. Toss well, adding reserved pasta water as needed for desired consistency.
- Serve hot topped with grated Parmesan cheese.
