- 1 lb lean ground turkey
- 1/2 cup plain or Italian-seasoned breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley (or basil)
- 1 large egg
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 2 tbsp olive oil (for sautéing)
- 2 cups marinara sauce (homemade or store-bought)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Sauté onion until translucent, then add garlic and cook until fragrant.
- In a bowl, combine ground turkey, sautéed onion and garlic, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, egg, salt, and pepper. Mix gently to avoid dense meatballs.
- Form mixture into golf ball-sized meatballs and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Bake for about 20 minutes or until golden brown.
- Heat marinara sauce in a saucepan; add cooked meatballs and simmer for an additional 5 minutes before serving.
