Instructions
- Rinse barnyard millet under cold water until the water runs clear to remove bitterness.
- Heat oil in a pan over medium heat and add cumin seeds; let them sizzle.
- Add chopped onions and minced garlic; sauté until golden brown.
- Stir in mixed vegetables and cook for about 5 minutes until softened.
- Add rinsed millet and pour in broth or water; stir well and season with salt.
- Cover the pan, reduce heat to low, and simmer for about 20 minutes until liquid is absorbed and millet is tender.
- Fluff with a fork after letting it sit covered for an additional 5 minutes. Serve hot.
