  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 12 green chilies (sliced)
  • 2 tablespoons cilantro leaves (for garnish)
  • 4 cups water or vegetable broth
  • Salt and pepper (to taste)

Instructions

  1. Rinse soaked green moong dal under cold water until clear.
  2. In a pot, heat oil over medium heat; add cumin seeds until they sizzle.
  3. Add chopped onions; sauté until golden brown.
  4. Stir in ginger-garlic paste, turmeric, coriander powder, and green chilies.
  5. Mix in chopped tomatoes; cook until softened (about 5-7 minutes).
  6. Add rinsed dal with water/broth; boil then simmer for 20-25 minutes until soft.
  7. Season with salt and pepper; garnish with cilantro and serve hot.
