  • 2 cups crushed pretzels
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar (divided: 1/4 cup for crust, 1/4 cup for cream cheese layer)
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup whipped topping
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, sliced
  • 1 package (3 oz) halal gelatin
  • 1 cup boiling water

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). In a mixing bowl, crush pretzels into fine crumbs.
  2. Mix in melted butter and 1/4 cup sugar until combined. Press into the bottom of a greased 9×13-inch baking dish and bake for about 10 minutes until golden. Let cool completely.
  3. Beat softened cream cheese with remaining sugar until smooth. Gently fold in whipped topping.
  4. Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the cooled pretzel crust.
  5. In a saucepan, dissolve halal gelatin in boiling water, then mix in remaining sugar and sliced strawberries. Allow to cool slightly before pouring over the cream cheese layer.
  6. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours or overnight before serving.
