Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb cube steak
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 medium yellow onion, sliced
- 1 cup low-sodium beef broth
- 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 3 tbsp butter
Instructions
- Season both sides of the cube steaks with salt and pepper, then dredge in flour until fully coated.
- In a large skillet over medium-high heat, melt butter. Once hot, add steaks and cook for about 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown.
- Remove steaks and set aside. In the same skillet, add sliced onions and sauté until soft (about 5 minutes).
- Pour in beef broth and Worcestershire sauce, scraping up any bits from the pan. Simmer for about 5 minutes until slightly thickened.
- Return steaks to the skillet, spooning sauce over them. Cover and cook on low heat for an additional 10 minutes.
- Serve hot with onions on top alongside your choice of sides.
