  • 1 lb cube steak
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 medium yellow onion, sliced
  • 1 cup low-sodium beef broth
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 3 tbsp butter

Instructions

  1. Season both sides of the cube steaks with salt and pepper, then dredge in flour until fully coated.
  2. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, melt butter. Once hot, add steaks and cook for about 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown.
  3. Remove steaks and set aside. In the same skillet, add sliced onions and sauté until soft (about 5 minutes).
  4. Pour in beef broth and Worcestershire sauce, scraping up any bits from the pan. Simmer for about 5 minutes until slightly thickened.
  5. Return steaks to the skillet, spooning sauce over them. Cover and cook on low heat for an additional 10 minutes.
  6. Serve hot with onions on top alongside your choice of sides.
