Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8-inch round cake pan.
- Prepare vanilla cake mix as per package instructions; pour into the pan and bake until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean (about 25 minutes).
- Cool the cake completely before slicing into pieces.
- Wash and slice fresh strawberries; sprinkle with sugar if desired.
- In a chilled bowl, whip heavy cream with sugar and vanilla extract until soft peaks form.
- Layer in glass cups starting with cake pieces, followed by whipped cream, then sliced strawberries; repeat until cups are filled.
- Refrigerate for at least one hour before serving.
