- 1 (28 oz) can crushed tomatoes
- 1 (15 oz) can kidney beans, drained
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup bell peppers, diced (any color)
- 2 tbsp chili powder
- 1 tsp cumin
- Salt & pepper to taste
- 2 tbsp olive oil
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Sauté chopped onions and minced garlic until fragrant.
- Add the ground beef, breaking it apart as it cooks until browned—about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat if needed.
- Stir in diced bell peppers along with chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper; cook for 2 minutes.
- Pour in crushed tomatoes and kidney beans; stir to combine all ingredients.
- Bring the mixture to a gentle boil, then reduce heat and let it simmer uncovered for 30-40 minutes.
