  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8×8-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
  2. Melt butter in a saucepan over low heat. Stir in granulated and brown sugars until smooth.
  3. Remove from heat, let cool slightly, then whisk in eggs one at a time along with vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, sift together flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Gradually fold this mixture into the wet ingredients until just combined.
  5. If desired, mix in chocolate chips and spread the batter evenly in the prepared pan.
  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out with moist crumbs. Allow to cool before cutting into squares.
