  • 1 cup boiling water

Instructions

  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, and salt until fluffy.
  3. In another bowl, beat eggs; add milk and vegetable oil, mixing until smooth. Stir in vanilla extract.
  4. Gradually combine wet ingredients with dry mixture using medium speed for about 2 minutes.
  5. Carefully stir in boiling water until the batter is smooth; it will be runny.
  6. Divide batter between prepared pans and bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Allow cakes to cool in pans for 10 minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.
