- 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar (packed)
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted)
- 4 large eggs
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.
- In a medium saucepan over low heat, melt the butter and stir in the granulated and brown sugars until glossy.
- Remove from heat and let cool slightly before whisking in eggs one at a time. Stir in vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, sift together cocoa powder, flour, and salt.
- Fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined; do not overmix. Add chocolate chips if desired.
- Pour batter into the prepared pan and bake for 20-25 minutes until a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs.
- Allow to cool before slicing into squares.
