- 1 cup elbow macaroni
- 2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1 cup whole milk
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional toppings: bacon bits, jalapeños, spinach
Instructions
- Cook the Pasta: Boil salted water in a large pot. Add elbow macaroni and cook until al dente (about 7-8 minutes). Drain and set aside.
- Make the Cheese Sauce: In a saucepan over medium heat, melt butter. Stir in flour and whisk for 1-2 minutes until golden. Gradually add milk while whisking until smooth. Add cheddar cheese and stir until melted (3-5 minutes).
- Combine: Gently fold cooked macaroni into the cheese sauce until well-coated.
- Assemble the Pizza: Preheat oven to 475°F (245°C). Roll out pizza dough on a floured surface. Spread macaroni mixture evenly on top.
- Bake: Bake for 12-15 minutes or until crust is golden brown. Let cool slightly before slicing.
