  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder

  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • Cinnamon sugar mixture (1 cup granulated sugar + 2 tablespoons cinnamon)

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan over medium heat, simmer apple cider until reduced by half. Set aside to cool.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, mix eggs and melted butter; then stir in the cooled apple cider reduction.
  4. Combine the wet and dry ingredients until just mixed; avoid overmixing.
  5. Shape dough using a donut pan or by hand into balls and fry in hot oil until golden brown (4-5 minutes).
  6. Coat warm donuts in cinnamon sugar mixture immediately after frying.
