- 4 fresh artichokes
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp lemon juice (freshly squeezed)
- ¼ cup extra virgin olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- ½ cup melted butter (for dipping sauce, optional)
Instructions
- Rinse artichokes under cold water. Cut off the top inch with a sharp knife.
- Trim thorny tips of each leaf using kitchen scissors.
- Steam artichokes in a basket over boiling water for 30–40 minutes until tender.
- While steaming, melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, then stir in lemon juice and season with salt.
- Serve steamed artichokes warm with dipping sauce.
