- 2 lbs russet potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, grated
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 tsp fresh thyme (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Sauté minced garlic in melted butter until fragrant.
- In a bowl, whisk together heavy cream, salt, pepper, and thyme.
- Layer half of the sliced potatoes in a greased baking dish, pour half of the cream mixture over them, and sprinkle with half of the cheese. Repeat layers.
- Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until golden brown.
