- 12 oz ziti pasta
- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 24 oz marinara sauce
- 15 oz whole milk ricotta cheese
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh basil (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a large baking dish.
- Cook the ziti in boiling salted water until al dente; drain and set aside.
- In a skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat. Add marinara sauce and Italian seasoning; simmer until heated.
- In a bowl, mix ricotta cheese with salt and pepper.
- Layer half of the cooked ziti in the baking dish, followed by half of the meat sauce, dollops of ricotta mixture, and half of the mozzarella cheese. Repeat layers.
- Top with remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese; cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until bubbly.
