- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 1.5 lbs)
- 1 cup BBQ sauce
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
Instructions
- Rinse and pat dry the chicken breasts, then season with salt and black pepper.
- Finely chop the onion and set aside.
- In a bowl, mix BBQ sauce with chicken broth and cayenne pepper if using.
- Layer seasoned chicken in the crockpot, pour sauce over it, and top with chopped onions.
- Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours until tender.
- Shred chicken directly in the pot before serving.
