- 3 lbs beef brisket
- 2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 2 tsp smoked paprika
- 2 cups low-sodium beef broth
- ½ cup BBQ sauce
Instructions
- Trim excess fat from the brisket, leaving some for flavor. Season generously with salt and pepper.
- In a bowl, mix garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika. Rub the spice mix all over the brisket.
- Heat oil in a heavy-bottomed pot over medium-high heat and sear the brisket for 5-7 minutes per side until browned.
- Pour in beef broth until it covers the brisket halfway. Cover tightly and simmer on low heat for 3-4 hours until tender.
- During the last 30 minutes of cooking, brush with BBQ sauce.
