Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two 9-inch round baking pans.
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, mix sugar and vegetable oil until combined. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Gradually incorporate buttermilk, vanilla extract, and blue food coloring into the wet mixture.
- Fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture gently until just combined.
- Pour the batter evenly into the prepared pans and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Allow the cakes to cool for 10 minutes in the pans before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely. Frost with cream cheese frosting once cooled.
