- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 3 large eggs
- 1 cup whole milk
- 2 tsp vanilla extract

- 1 cup heavy cream
- 8 oz dark chocolate (chopped)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease two round baking pans and dust with flour.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour and baking powder.
- Beat butter and sugar in another bowl until light and fluffy (3-4 minutes).
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then add vanilla extract.
- Gradually mix in the dry ingredients alternating with milk until just combined.
- Divide batter between pans and bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown; cool completely.
- For the custard, heat milk, sugar, cornstarch, and egg yolks in a saucepan until thickened (5-7 minutes), stirring constantly.
- Cool the custard; cover to prevent skin from forming.
- For ganache, heat heavy cream until simmering then pour over dark chocolate. Let sit for 5 minutes before stirring until smooth.
- Assemble by layering custard between cake layers and topping with ganache.
