- 3–4 ripe bananas, mashed
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter (1 stick), browned
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg, room temperature
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
- Brown the butter in a saucepan over medium heat until golden and nutty, about 5-7 minutes.
- In a bowl, mash the ripe bananas until slightly chunky.
- Combine the browned butter with sugar, then add the mashed bananas, egg, and vanilla extract; mix until smooth.
- Fold in baking soda, flour, and salt gently until just combined.
- Pour batter into the prepared pan and bake for about 60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Allow to cool slightly before slicing.
