- 2 lbs Yukon Gold potatoes, peeled and cut into chunks
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 6 whole garlic cloves
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- Salt to taste
- Freshly ground black pepper to taste
- Fresh chives or parsley for garnish
Instructions
- 1. Boil the Potatoes: Place peeled and chopped Yukon Gold potatoes in a large pot filled with cold water. Add salt and bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Cook until fork-tender, about 15-20 minutes.
- 2. Brown the Butter: In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the unsalted butter until it turns golden brown and develops a nutty aroma. Add whole garlic cloves and sauté for 2-3 minutes until fragrant.
- 3. Mash It Up: Drain the cooked potatoes and return them to the pot. Pour in the browned butter and garlic mixture along with heavy cream. Mash until smooth but slightly chunky.
- 4. Season & Serve: Season generously with salt and pepper. Transfer to a serving dish, garnish with fresh chives or parsley, and enjoy!
