- 4 slices of sourdough or whole grain bread
- 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- Optional: ½ cup sliced tomatoes or avocados
Instructions
- Prepare your ingredients by slicing the bread and shredding the cheese.
- Spread butter generously on one side of each slice of bread.
- Heat a skillet over medium heat and place one slice of bread butter-side down in the skillet.
- Layer the shredded cheeses on top, then cover with another slice of bread, butter-side up.
- Grill for 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown and cheese is melted.
- Slice diagonally and serve hot.
