- 3–4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 6 oz thinly sliced high-quality ham
- 6 oz Swiss cheese (or Gruyère)
- 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 2 large eggs (room temperature)
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tsp dried herbs (Italian seasoning or paprika)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Flatten chicken breasts to about 1/2 inch thick using a meat mallet.
- Layer each chicken breast with ham and cheese, leaving edges clear.
- Roll the chicken tightly from one end to the other; secure with toothpicks if necessary.
- Set up three bowls: one with seasoned flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with panko breadcrumbs.
- Coat each roll in flour, dip in eggs, then cover in breadcrumbs.
- Place rolls in a greased baking dish and bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature of 165°F or 75°C).
