- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 1.5 lbs total)
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 cup seasoned breadcrumbs
- Vegetable oil for frying (approximately 1 cup)
- 2 tbsp hot sauce
- 1 tbsp honey
Instructions
- Pound chicken breasts between plastic wrap until about 1 inch thick for even cooking.
- Set up three bowls: one with flour mixed with salt, pepper, and paprika; another with beaten eggs; and the last with breadcrumbs.
- Dredge each chicken breast in the flour mixture, dip in egg wash, then coat evenly with breadcrumbs.
- Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
- Fry the breaded chicken for about 5-7 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F).
- For the optional sauce, whisk together hot sauce and honey in a small bowl and drizzle over finished chicken.
