- 1 cup brown sugar (packed)
- 1 large egg

- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Instructions
- 1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- 2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
- 3. In a large bowl, beat softened butter with granulated and brown sugars until fluffy.
- 4. Mix in the egg and vanilla until well combined.
- 5. Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture while mixing gently.
- 6. Fold in chocolate chips and nuts if desired.
- 7. Scoop dough onto prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- 8. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are golden but centers look slightly underbaked. Cool on sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to wire racks.
