- 4 burger buns

- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 4 slices cheddar cheese (optional)
- Toppings of your choice (lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles)
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine ground beef with salt and pepper. Mix gently until just combined.
- Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape each into a ¾ inch thick patty, making a small indent in the center.
- Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat until sizzling.
- Cook patties for 4-5 minutes on one side without pressing down. Flip when juices bubble up.
- If using cheese, add it during the last minute of cooking to melt.
- Assemble burgers on buns and layer with your favorite toppings.
