- 12 no-boil lasagna noodles
- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 1 cup ricotta cheese
- 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 2 tsp dried Italian herbs (oregano and basil)
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a skillet over medium heat, sauté minced garlic and chopped onion in olive oil until fragrant (about 5 minutes).
- Add ground beef, browning it while breaking it up. Drain excess fat.
- Stir in marinara sauce and dried herbs; simmer for 5 minutes.
- In a bowl, mix ricotta cheese with an egg, salt, pepper, and grated Parmesan.
- In a baking dish, layer meat sauce, noodles, ricotta mixture, and mozzarella. Repeat layers until ingredients are used up.
- Top with remaining meat sauce and mozzarella.
- Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes; uncover and bake an additional 15 minutes until bubbly.
- Let cool slightly before slicing.
