- 1 medium focaccia bread (about 10 oz)
- 8 oz fresh mozzarella cheese, sliced
- 2 large heirloom tomatoes, thickly sliced
- 1 cup fresh basil leaves
- 2 tbsp balsamic glaze
- 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Slice focaccia bread horizontally to create a top and bottom half.
- Drizzle olive oil on the bottom half; layer with mozzarella slices.
- Add tomato slices and top with fresh basil leaves.
- Drizzle balsamic glaze over the layers.
- Place the top half of the focaccia on the sandwich and gently press down.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes until cheese is melted and edges are crispy.
- Allow to cool slightly before slicing into pieces.
