Instructions
- In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the sugar while stirring occasionally until it turns into an amber liquid.
- Carefully add the unsalted butter, stirring until fully incorporated and bubbly.
- Gradually pour in the heavy cream while stirring; expect vigorous bubbling during this step.
- Remove from heat and mix in the vanilla extract and salt until smooth.
- Allow to cool slightly before transferring to a jar or container; it will thicken as it cools.
