- 12 lasagna noodles
- 1 pound lean ground beef or sausage
- 2 cups high-quality tomato sauce
- 2 cups cottage cheese (full-fat or low-fat)
- 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tablespoon fresh basil, chopped
- 1 tablespoon fresh oregano, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- Salt & pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions until al dente; drain.
- In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef or sausage until fully cooked; drain excess fat.
- Stir in the tomato sauce, garlic, salt, pepper, basil, and oregano; simmer for 10 minutes.
- In a bowl, mix cottage cheese with eggs, half of the Parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper until creamy.
- In a baking dish, layer sauce at the bottom, followed by noodles, cheese mixture, and more sauce; repeat layers until all ingredients are used.
- Top with remaining mozzarella cheese and cover with foil. Bake for 25 minutes; remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until bubbly and golden brown.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
