- 1 (15.25 oz) box yellow cake mix
- 1/2 cup fresh lemon juice
- Zest of 2 lemons
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted)
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup water
- Powdered sugar (for dusting, optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- In a bowl, combine fresh lemon juice, lemon zest, granulated sugar, and water until well blended.
- Spread the dry cake mix evenly over the lemon mixture in the baking dish. Drizzle melted butter over the top without stirring.
- Bake for approximately 45 minutes or until golden brown on top.
- Allow to cool slightly before dusting with powdered sugar if desired. Serve warm or chilled.
