- 8 oz spaghetti
- 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 4 cloves fresh garlic, minced
- 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)
- 1/2 cup fresh basil, chopped
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Cook the spaghetti in salted boiling water until al dente (about 8-10 minutes). Reserve 1/2 cup pasta water before draining.
- In a skillet over medium heat, warm the olive oil. Add minced garlic and red pepper flakes; sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- Add drained spaghetti to the skillet while still warm. Toss well to coat in garlic oil.
- Stir in chopped basil and grated Parmesan cheese. Mix until combined, adjusting consistency with reserved pasta water if needed.
- Serve immediately with additional cheese and fresh basil on top.
